Dalby High School Students Help Ozcare Families
Dalby High School students organised a series of activities which raised a worthwhile donation of $300 for the Ozcare family crisis services in Dalby.
Ozcare Co-ordinator Jayne Swift, presented student representatives with a Certificate of Appreciation at the School Assembly this week in return for the donation.
Ms. Swift thanked the school community for their effort and generous donation, saying that the money is very welcome and will be very useful for providing resources for the family accommodation services.
“Families arrive at the houses after being involved in traumatic situations, and usually bring very few possessions with them.
“Often they leave behind things that most people take for granted.
“We are going to buy a freestanding basketball ring, balls and other resources for the children of these families,” she said.
Ms. Swift commended all students at Dalby High School for their generosity, awareness of the plight of others, and their community spirit in assisting people outside their school environment.
School Captain Rochelle Milne responded on behalf of the school and thanked fellow students for their support of the free dress day fundraising activities, which in turn, helped children and families in the wider community.
