The $8m development and expansion of Ozcare Port Douglas Aged Care Facility showcases Ozcare’s ongoing commitment to provide excellent services to meet the needs of the community. Ozcare CEO Brian Lenz says that Ozcare is a leading not-for-profit organisation delivering health and human services to around 9,000 people daily, across Queensland and northern New South Wales. “Ozcare Port Douglas is one of a number of Ozcare’s modern, high-quality Aged Care Facilities strategically placed across Queensland, designed to focus on the well-being of Residents and Staff.” Mr. Lenz says that he has had a long-standing personal relationship with Far North Queensland, having lived in the Cairns, Thursday Island and Port Douglas regions. “I have a special interest in the provision of service in this area and have been personally, closely involved with this development. “Ozcare Port Douglas is the most northern coastal aged care facility, with quality equal to the best, and built in this location to benefit Far North Queensland families and communities. “Members of the community can now access residential aged care without leaving the area, and stay in the same facility as their needs increase from low care to high care and special care. “Ozcare Port Douglas is situated in an idyllic location in close proximity to Four Mile Beach and the Port Douglas township. “It has its own bus to transport residents for supervised outings in the area,” he says. According to Mr Lenz, Ozcare’s focus in residential aged care is to build state-of-the-art facilities, that accommodate every need of the Residents and Staff alike. “When we built and developed this site, we paid attention to every detail from the ground up. “The end result is a spacious, colourful, tasteful environment which is equipped and streamlined for functionality - all set in very attractive landscaped surroundings to suit the Far North Queensland lifestyle,” he says. Ozcare employs over 2,300 professional and caring staff, who provide services in Aged Care, Community Care, Community Health and Community Support.
