‘Changing of the Guard’ at Ozcare Mackay Community Health
After almost 21 years of service to the Community and to Ozcare, well-known Mackay Nurse, Kay Bampton has retired, leaving her position as Clinical Nurse Manager at Ozcare Mackay, to be filled by talented newcomer to North Queensland, Julia Swann.
Regional Manager Coralie Friend praised the work of Kay Bampton, saying that she would be missed not only by Ozcare, but in the Mackay community.
“Kay Bampton began working with the St Vincent de Paul Society Community Nursing, and has been a consistent and loyal presence through the many changes since then, watching Ozcare and the Mackay services evolve and develop.
“Ozcare Senior Management is very appreciative of Kay’s long and loyal service to Ozcare, and of her highly valued contribution to Community Nursing - all at Ozcare, and I’m sure the Mackay Community, wish Kay well for her retirement,” she said.
Ms. Friend said that Ms. Bampton’s position would be filled by Julia Swann who has re-located with her family from Traralgon in Victoria.
“We welcome Julia Swann, who brings with her both national and international nursing experience including a strong knowledge and understanding of the community sector.
“The ‘changing of the guard’ of our Mackay Clinical Nurse Managers means that Ozcare will continue to offer an excellent standard and proven service that’s become trusted in the community,” Ms Friend said.
Ozcare is a leading not-for-profit provider of Community Nursing, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services, Community Care and Homeless Services for the Mackay region.
