Film Making Opportunity for Ipswich
People from the Ipswich region are taking up an exciting opportunity to be involved in making and starring in a short film, which will premier on International Day of People with a Disability 2008. Ozcare’s MOZART Program has received funding to produce a short film and individuals with a disability are invited to work together to produce a film. Ozcare’s MOZART Acting Co-ordinator Dan Campbell says people can register their interest as ‘MOZART Artists’ and form a group to work together on the film. “Our ‘MOZART Artists’ will then be involved in one or more aspects of making the film from July to December this year, including story-writing, acting, filming, sound, photography, publicity, brochures and the actual Premier of the film. “Individuals will have an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, express their creativity, try totally new experiences, and work together to achieve a common goal. “The making of the film will be facilitated by “Film Focus” and we hope to enter it into short-film festivals. “Participants will then have the thrill and satisfaction of seeing their own work shown, not only at the Premier, but at festivals next year,” he says. MOZART offers a variety of recreational experiences for individuals with a disability in the Ipswich and surrounding areas. Activities include sporting, adventure, artistic and social experiences. Ozcare is a leading not-for-profit organisation providing health and human services to around 9,000 Queenslanders daily. For further information, contact Ozcare’s MOZART, (07) 3432 6031. |
