Ozcare Services Assist Mackay Seniors Living
Ozcare community services offer a wide range of in-home health and care services to seniors to help them live independently in their own homes.
Community Care Co-ordinator Helen Beattie said that Ozcare’s services provide an excellent opportunity for people throughout the Mackay and surrounding regions to benefit from the support available.
“We can begin with an assessment of what is needed to help the individual, then Ozcare can provide services and make referrals to other services that are needed.
“Our services complement each other and include nursing, medication support, meal preparation, assistance with showering, shopping, housework, transport, social support, wound care, palliative care, respite, allied health, Veterans’ services, and more,” she said.
“We can also provide respite for carers – allowing the carers to have time out to do things they need to do for example, shopping, business or social events, knowing that our trained staff are reliable and will care for their loved ones while they’re away.
“Another beneficial aspect of this service is flexibility - everyone’s needs are different, and we can tailor what we do to suit individual needs,” Ms Beattie said.
Ozcare’s Clinical Nurse Manager Keryn Brant said that Ozcare has fully-trained staff who come to the home to provide an excellent standard of care that’s become trusted in the community.
“Ozcare has a new allied health service with an Occupational Therapist who is available to provide home front assessment and arrange home modifications and other services.
“Ozcare offers Mental Health Recovery Programs to support people with mental health issues to develop pathways towards work readiness, socialisation and recreational activities.
“In addition, Ozcare is about to launch a new Dementia service which will benefit other service providers, people with dementia and their carers.
