Support for Living Independently
After 66 years of happy married life, Dudley and Rita Cohen continue to enjoy living independently in their own home with the help and support of Ozcare in-home care services.
Dudley Cohen said that the Ozcare services they receive make a huge difference to the way they live their lives, and provide relief for their family members who know that they are well cared for.
“Ozcare staff are very good – they come into our home six days out of seven and provide a number of services that make our lives easier.
“They help us with housework and hanging out the washing - they drive us to Doctor’s appointments and take Rita to do the shopping.
“We’re not as active and mobile as we used to be,” Dudley said.
Following a romantic meeting at the Redcliffe skating rink, Dudley and Rita married in 1942 and lived at Sandgate to rear their family before moving to the Toowoomba area in 1974.
The Cohens took on active roles in the community and have led busy lives, and now, like others their age, they find their own needs are increasing.
