Ozcare is a leading not-for-profit organisation, providing a wide range of quality health and human services across Queensland.
Taking Quality Care Services to the People
Ozcare vehicles, with the distinctive logo and green tick on the side, can be seen throughout Queensland as Ozcare staff deliver a diverse range of quality health and human care services into the community.
Chief Executive Officer Brian Lenz said that Ozcare’s services can help to improve the quality of life for people in need of support.
“With around 2,500 trained and professional staff across Queensland, we provide over 309 services to 15,000 people, supporting their needs in Aged Care, Community Care, Community Health and Community Support Services.
“At Ozcare, people come first, and that includes our Clients, Residents, Staff and Volunteers.
“Our focus is on meeting the care needs of our clients, helping them to achieve the best possible outcomes, with the best possible staff operating in the best possible working conditions.
“We are committed to maintaining an excellent standard of care.
“We have just undertaken another successful round of rigorous quality auditing with the result that Ozcare continues to be accredited to the requirements of the International Standards Organisation (ISO), and is compliant with all standards of the Government funding bodies audited.
“In addition, all ten of Ozcare’s Aged Care Facilities are 100 percent compliant with the Aged Care Accreditation Standards,” he said.
Mr Lenz said that Ozcare monitors and identifies community need, and responds with the provision of new services that can offer support.
“One example is the concerning increase in the incidence of dementia.
“In response, Ozcare successfully applied for funding from a Home and Community Care (HACC) government initiative, to provide training, education and support services for people with dementia, their families and other service providers.
“We are in the process of employing specialised staff to deliver the dementia advisory and support services, which will work with other service providers across the State.
“Other initiatives such as the development of a dementia website will also support the target group.
“Ozcare is now a leading not-for-profit provider of professionally delivered community services and quality facilities, for people across the State,” Mr Lenz said.
