Heritage gives wheels to help Bush Connection families
Ozcare’s Bush Connection was presented with a trailer which will be equipped to provide support events for people in the rural areas around Toowoomba.
Heritage Building Society raised $8000 from a Charity Golf Day to donate to the Bush Connection.
Ozcare Co-ordinator Pam Bryce welcomed the donation of the trailer saying it would be well used over the coming months and it would be the rural communities that would benefit.
“With the help of our volunteers ‘The Friends of the Bush Connection’, we are organising a series of barbeques and information days in the smaller towns around Toowoomba, to help build the morale of people in rural areas.
“People enjoy these events where they can get together to socialise and find out information about services that are available to help them.
“We are very grateful to John Williams and the Heritage Building Society Charity Golf Day Committee for their generosity,” she said.
Committee Chairman John Williams said that Heritage Building Society was very community minded and had various programs for Staff to be involved in helping the community.
“Heritage has the motto ‘We support the community that supports us’.
“We have been running the Golf Days for 10 years now, and have raised around $250,000 which has been used to support over 50 local charities.
“We are very pleased to be able to support Ozcare’s Bush Connection – and hope the trailer will help to make it easier for them to provide their service,” he said.
The Bush Connection service assists rural families who are facing difficulties, and helps them to find a more positive future.
