Positive Care for Carers

Caring for someone full time is physically and emotionally demanding.  Ozcare recognises the vital role of carers in our community and their need for time out to take care of their own needs.

The focus of this Program is to provide ongoing support to carers of frail aged people as well as carers of people with Dementia and associated behavioural conditions.  The Program includes support for carers who are studying, employed or wishing to return to the workforce.

Ozcare’s fully-trained staff provide the support carers need, with the comfort of knowing that their dependants are well looked after.  Services are flexible and can be tailored to suit individual needs.

Services include:

  • In-Home and Community Access respite services
  • Additional Day Respite Centre services
  • Respite for carers of people with Dementia and associated challenging behaviours
  • Respite for employed carers and carers seeking to work or study
Carers must meet eligibility requirements to access services.  The level of respite care provided will be determined by identified need, priority and availability of services.

An initiative of the Australian Department of Health and Ageing through the National Respite for Carers Program.
