Dry Bed Program

Ozcare’s Continence Units provide a comprehensive program for bed wetting which includes a detailed assessment, a bladder training program and the hire of equipment.  Most of all, the program helps parents and children to understand and manage bed wetting.

Our Continence Units are staffed by experienced Continence Advisors, who are also available for education sessions to parent groups.

Bed wetting is a very common problem and can be easily treated.  The most common causes are:
  • Difficulty arousing from sleep in response to a full bladder.
  • The production of more urine at night than the bladder can store.
  • A family history of bed wetting.
Almost 20% of children wet the bed at night, so remember you are not alone.

It is generally regarded that help should be sought if bed wetting continues after about six years of age.  However, if it is causing distress for the child and family before this time, it is reasonable to contact your General Practitioner or a Continence Advisor for help.
