Mental Health Project

Ozcare’s Mental Health Projects in Brisbane and the Gold Coast support people with a mental illness.  The Project assists clients by improving access to HACC services, providing interim support services and supporting other agencies and service providers to deliver care to clients.

Staff work closely with Clinical Case Managers and other community-based recovery services.  Support includes:
  • Assisting clients to meet their physiological, emotional and physical needs.
  • Providing linkages to appropriate support networks.
  • Providing allied health services.
  • Ensuring clients remain in their own homes with minimal amounts of support.
  • Ensuring the client’s condition is monitored and early intervention is initiated as required.
  • Avoidance of early or inappropriate entry into residential support facilities and hospitals.
  • Improving the client’s and carer’s knowledge of the mental illness.
  • Ensuring clients and carers can access ongoing services as required.
  • Ensuring the carer is able to sustain the caring role.
These programs also offer education and information support to the public and other services which provide care for clients with a mental illness.
