Residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services

Ozcare's Residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services (RDATS) provide a structured 24 hour a day support program for people who seek rehabilitation and recovery from alcohol and/or drug dependencies and people experiencing co-existing mental health and substance abuse disorders.

What theService Offers

The service offers a short to medium term residential program which aims to facilitate personal growth and responsibility for men and women over the age of 18 years, whose lives have been affected by alcohol and/or drug dependency.

A holistic model of service is provided to support people with their medical, social and emotional needs.  Individual counselling, specialised therapies and recreation activities can be accessed through in-house programs and external providers.

The service is staffed by a team of experienced and qualified people and provides a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.

Access to the Service

People from anywhere in Queensland wishing to undertake the residential treatment program can phone to make an appointment for an assessment.  Alternatively, doctors, other service providers, frriends or family can make contact on a person's behalf.

The service is completely abstinence-based and detoxification is required prior to entry into the rehabilitation program.

Cost

Residents are charged a weekly fee to cover board, food and professional services.  Fees are assessed individually, based on income.

About the Program

The service provides effective interventions to people with comorbidity through a range of support services.  Participants are provided with regular support sessions, daily house meetings, therapeutic groups and recreation and physical activities.

Support includes:

• Group based recovery.
• Relapse prevention.
• Therapeutic approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
• Community linkages and self-help/support groups.
• Life skills - budgeting, goal-setting, recreational therapy.
• Coping skills and strategies.
• Enhanced self-esteem.
• Emotional and physical health services.
• Referrals to other health services.
• After care - follow-up support.
