Turnaround Program

The Turnaround Program provides accommodation, support and assistance to people on Intensive Drug Rehabilitation Orders from the Drug Court (IDRO), in order to meet the challenges associated with breaking the cycle of addition.  Clients are given total support to change old habits and create a new life.

The Program’s goals are:

  • To assist in meeting the conditions of an Intensive Drug Rehabilitation Order.
  • To support the client to address their drug dependency and its underlying causes.
  • To provide suitable accommodation during the term of the IDRO, if required, and to assist in sourcing accommodation following completion of the Order.
  • To support the client to enhance their capacity to achieve the maximum possible degree of self-reliance and independence.
The Turnaround Program provides a supportive and structured case management process as developed by the Drug Court Team.

The service has six houses available in the community which accommodate a maximum of 18 people.  All houses are fully furnished including all linen and household equipment.

The Program of support offered to Turnaround clients includes an intensive cognitive/living skills program, support and recreation.

When numbers allow, the service can also be accessed by people who do not require accommodation but are on an IDRO and require intensive support.  These clients can also participate with accommodated clients in the various group programs and recreation activities provided by the Turnaround Program.

The Turnaround Program Drop-In Centre at 41 Waghorn Street, Ipswich is open to clients between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm Monday to Friday.

The Turnaround Program is only accessible through the Drug Court.
