Supported Parole Program

Ozcare provides support to men leaving prison on Parole. Through the Program, Ozcare offers clients support to adapt, in a positive way, to living in the community, in gaining employment and finding accommodation.

Access to the Program

The Program can only be accessed through Queensland Corrective Services and as part of a Parole Order.

Application for admission to the Program is made to Ozcare through Sentence Management of the relevant Correctional Centre. Applicants assessed as suitable are subject to consideration by a Parole Board for final approval, unless the applicant has Court Ordered Parole.

Services Provided

Clients are assisted by developing a Support Plan to identify specific goals. The Support Plan may include the following:

  • Individual Counselling
  • Familiarisation with the use of Public Transport
  • Developing independent living skills
  • Developing job readiness skills
  • Finding accommodation
  • Setting up a bank account
  • Budgeting
  • Establishing social links in the community
  • Accessing relevant counselling, education, training and relevant support services

This Program is funded by Queensland Corrective Services.
