Move in temporarily to one of our aged care homes to experience life with us before deciding on permanent care. We can also accommodate you if your carer is unable to look after you for a short period of time.
All of Ozcare’s aged care facilities located throughout Queensland offer residential respite care. Respite care stays in our facilities typically last for a few days to a number of weeks. You can either book your stay:
The government sets a maximum stay of 63 days but this can be extended in special circumstances.
All of our respite care clients who move in temporarily to one of our aged care facilities, receive the same aged care support services as our permanent residents.
If you have been considering aged care assistance and moving into a nursing home, using residential respite care allows you to try out an aged care facility that you are interested in.
You will experience first-hand it’s like to live in residential aged care. You will be living with other residents, be cared for by the same staff, and you can get involved in the various activities on offer.
Carers can take advantage of residential respite care, safe in the knowledge that the person you care for is well looked after and safe while you go on holiday or are otherwise unable to provide care.
Our staff are there 24-hours a day to provide assistance with eating, dressing, nursing, activities, and anything else that is needed.
Ozcare’s residential respite care services are available to people who have been approved for residential care by the Australian Government’s Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). ACAT will discuss your needs, provide you with information about your care options, and advise you of your eligibility for subsidised services.
