Ozcare Mackay Aged Care Facility – Opening July

Ozcare Mackay Aged Care Facility – Opening July

Opening July

Move into Ozcare Mackay and you’ll be cared for by our experienced team of nurses, carers, allied health professionals and support service staff, there to provide you with round the clock care. We see our residents as part of our family so we go the extra mile to learn about you; your history, your family, your likes and dislikes, to ensure we’re delivering the best care possible.

Located just 5km from the city centre, Ozcare Mackay will offer a first-class facility and is only moments away from Mackay Base Hospital. With sweeping views of neighbouring cane fields and cool sea breezes, this state-of-the art facility is somewhere you’ll be proud to call home.

Care Options

We provide a range of care options to suit your needs. If you are more independent, we support you with day-to-day living including assistance with:

  • Showering
  • Dressing
  • Medication management
  • Participating in social activities

If you need a higher level of care, we support you with full living assistance including:

  • Nursing care
  • Allied health such as physiotherapy
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with eating and drinking
  • Continence management
  • Attending social activities

Dementia Care

In addition, Ozcare Mackay will offer two special secured wings (18 beds each) where staff trained in dementia care provide a supportive, safe environment for people living with dementia. Read more about our dementia aged care facility services.

Residential Respite Care

Ozcare Mackay will also offer residential respite care, which is short term care in an aged care facility. This is a great option if you've been considering moving into an aged care facility and you would like to move in temporarily to see what it's like to live there. You will be living with other residents, be cared for by the same staff, and can get involved in the various activities on offer. Carers can take advantage of residential respite services, safe in the knowledge that the person you care for is well looked after and safe while you go on holiday or are otherwise unable to provide care. Read more about residential respite care.

Activities

You can look forward to a wide range of activities that offer opportunities to socialise as well as quiet areas to talk with family or relax while reading a book. Our activities calendar changes daily and includes:

  • Exercise and Tai Chi groups
  • Scenic bus tours
  • Shopping trips
  • Special occasion events
  • Musical / dance performances
  • Bingo and other games

We welcome visits from your family or friends at any time of the day or night, just like you would in your own home.
