Physiotherapy

If you have an injury, are recovering from surgery, or have a disability, our physiotherapists can help you regain movement and reduce pain through the use of manual therapies, exercise programs and other techniques.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists visit you in your home to assess and advise you on ways to make it safer and more comfortable. This can include modifications such as installing grab rails in bathrooms, aids that make reaching objects easier, or making changes to the way you do tasks.

Services include:

  • Home safety assessments
  • Falls prevention advice and group programs
  • Equipment prescription, including shower chairs, hoists, and pressure care aids
  • Mobility aid prescription, including all types of wheelchairs and wheelie walkers
  • Assessment for home modifications including grab rails, ramps and bathroom modification

Dietetics

Dietitians provide food and nutrition advice to help you prevent and treat illness and disease through an understanding of the relationship between food and health.

Services include:

If you need help with adjusting to changes in your life, or are having difficulties with illness, injury or relationships, our social workers can help you with education, advice and support.

Exercise Physiology

Our exercise physiologists can help you to prevent and manage injuries and chronic diseases, such as diabetes, through the use of personalised exercise programs. We show you how to incorporate exercise in a way that suits your lifestyle, so you can reduce pain and improve your heart health, general health, and wellbeing.

  • Development of safe, effective, personalised exercise plans
  • Assessing movement capacity in people of all ages
  • Health education, advice and support
  • Group programs such as Lung in Action
  • Physical activity advice and clinical exercise prescription for those at high-risk of developing or with existing chronic health conditions

Podiatry

Our podiatrists are qualified health professionals specialising in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders, medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs.

Services include:

  • Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions
  • Foot checks to test foot mobility, sensitivity and injury
  • Treatment of ulcers, infections and related problems
  • Education for those with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, arthritis and neuropathy that affect the feet and lower limbs
  • General foot care, toe-nail clipping and treatment of hard nails, bunions and hammertoes
  • Assessment and provision of orthotics for foot correction

Eligibility

Our services are open to anyone that has difficulties with their mobility or wellbeing.

Costs

The cost of your services depends on the services you need and your eligibility for government subsidies including the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), Home Care Packages, Medicare and Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). You may be asked to pay a $15 per hour co-payment for your allied health services, although this can be waived if you are in financial hardship.

We also offer privately funded services, and in some cases you may be able to make a claim with your private health insurer.
