We offer a variety of services, support and social activities for people living with a disability in the Ipswich area.


Community Access

For adults living with a mental illness or acquired brain injury, Ipswich

We can help you access services with the aim of improving your quality of life and capacity for independent living through:

  • Helping you to set goals, create plans, and establish social networks
  • Helping you access community services and groups, such as community choirs, arts and crafts, training, employment, and legal services
  • Social activities including monthly BBQs, Secret Men’s Business club and a weekly group for women

Costs
There is no cost for this service through funding provided by the Queensland Department of Disability Services.


Mozart

Social activities, Ipswich

If you live in Ipswich or surrounding areas and are looking to extend your social networks or get outdoors for some fun and exercise, join the Mozart program. We have a diverse range of group-based activities on offer that change monthly, including:

  • Sport, such as swimming, basketball, and ping pong
  • Relaxing pursuits such as movies, cooking, and arts & crafts
  • Adventure activities such as rock-climbing, bushwalking, and canoeing
  • Trips, such as going to Bribie Island, the museum, and shopping
  • Events, including Disability Action Week and community BBQs

Costs
The costs of activities are heavily subsidised but do vary between activities. These costs are generally listed on Mozart’s quarterly activity calendar, which includes a number of free activities so that everyone has the chance to join in.


Community Linking

For those in supported accommodation, Ipswich

We provide several outings per month for residents aged between 18 and 64 years who are living with a disability at Tarampa Lodge, Fernvale After Care, or Fairhaven Pine Mountain in Ipswich.

Our calendar changes monthly and outings include:

  • Picnics
  • Museums
  • Art activities
  • Movies
  • Bingo

Costs
Each outing costs $6 and runs for a full day. The subsidised fee includes transport, activity, and food.


Costs & Eligibility

Our disability services are available to you if you live in the Ipswich area, are aged between 18 and 64 years and meet the criteria of the Disability Services Act 2006 (See page 20 – what is a disability).
